What should the role of corrections be in the criminal justice system?

there is not desire to reform in the corrections system currently, it is only about punishment and revenge. All the current system does is to harden the 'person' and turn them against society and normal behavior. They see the politicians and like commit crimes and get away with it. They leave prison with less chance of success than they had before and with a label branded into their foreheads. Dept of Corrections is a misnomer it should be Dept of Punishment. -... ....
