Only the protection paladin uses a shield?

Protection Paladins prefers to use a shield because they are tanks and a good shield increases your armor. However, that being said, any pally can use a shield. But the reason why Retribution Paladins don't use a shield because they can increase DPS by using a two-handed weapon.
