Why does my computer freeze on some games?

Its happening all over again... Crysis 1 seemed to be in essence a benchmark and less of a game and today Crysis TWO may be the same way, my own high class computer can not handle it! I down loaded this simply yesterday, it's nevertheless interesting not surprisingly. I just can not manage the maximum settings haha, I question what number of people in existence actually can..
